Culture and arts education has the power to inspire our youth to look at life in a positive way by helping them develop artistic sensibilities, creativity, self-motivation and self-confidence.

Accordingly, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has dispatched professional instructors in eight fields (Korean traditional music, theater, film, dance, crafts, photography, animation, and design) to 1,193 of schools to improve cultural and artistic sensitivity and creativity among students.

As part of the School Arts Education Activation Project, we currently have student orchestras in 100 schools, student musicals in 10 schools, art clubs in 15 schools, drama clubs in 15 schools, bands in 10 schools, and Korean traditional percussion bands in 10 schools. Further, we have 10 schools where students can experience choral and various arts based on "art dream".

In addition, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education carries out arts and cultural education (musical instrument) projects in 493 elementary, middle and high schools. We actively support students to pursue “1 student, 1 art” and as a result, more than 90% of the schools are operating art clubs currently. Finally, we have three “Creativity and Arts Education Centers” to give students the chance to experience high-quality fusion art.
